                The new media that I see as a possibility for society is virtual worlds. It will be sort of like the movie The Matrix where you indulge into another world. With the increase popularity of virtual reality and technology advancing in this sector very rapidly with investments from big companies such as Facebook, Samsung, and Oracle to name few, it’s only a matter of time before society learns to use it more frequent.                 The new media that I have in mind would include virtual hubs, which would be small rooms that have a high tech chair for comfort, Virtual reality glasses and cables that will connect to the back of your head/brain. I know this doesn’t exist yet, but please just imagine it. These cables will be connected to your brain in some sort of way so that they can transmit the 5 senses of the virtual world to you. This is especially true with Social networking platforms since anybody who has access to a computer and internet can search for you and find pictures, information and locations of your individual self. When you have a social media platform you don’t only have your friends as an audience but pretty much everybody who has internet. The exposure of your personal information can lead to sexual harassment, stalking, and other types of cyber-attacks that invade your privacy.
